Fastlak

Fastlak suture is flexible, synthetic, absorbable, sterile surgical suture consisting of copolymer synthesised from 90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide (gylcolide and lactide acid derivatives). Empirical formula of copolymer is (C?H?O?)m(C?H?O?)n. Multifilament suture is formed by combining fibres by braiding. Fastlak is a form of gamma degraded PGL or PGL with lower molecular weight to provider faster hydrolysis/absorption.
